PCYS Open Position!

Director of Coaching

Objective: to ensure that players at all age levels are being coached consistently and effectively, in line with the organization’s vision and philosophy. Without competent coaching and a positive learning environment, individual players are extremely unlikely to reach their full potential.

Manage all coaches: Responsible for management of all coaches that provide training services to teams within the club.

Coach Evaluation:  Monitor coaches (team managers) and solicit feedback from parents.

Administer and enforce policies established by the PCYS Board of Directors and the Competitive Committee. The general Policies and Procedures of the club should be used to guide day to day decision making.

Coach Development: Develop age appropriate coaching clinics for the club at both the classic and rec level, enlisting experience coaches to conduct clinics and training sessions for PCYS new and existing coaches.

Other duties and tasks the Coach Admin is responsible for:

  1. To educate coaches on the club's policies and philosophies on youth development and age appropriate activities through orientations, seminars and written material.
  2. Assign Coach mentors for new coaches or coaches needing more development.
  3. Make sure all coaches have appropriate licensing, risk management and safe sport certifications
  4. Oversee the coaching resource library, add training sessions and videos to keep coaches up to date

Requirements

  • Coaching license is preferred but not necessary (would require one is obtained if position  is accepted)
  • Coaching experience of at least 3 years
  • Must have strong knowledge of soccer and age appropriate skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills that include the following:  Ability to organize and execute projects, tasks, and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Possess excellent verbal, phone and written communication skills.
